Universal Robots, a Danish manufacturer of lightweight robots and a pioneer in the collaborative robotics industry worldwide, announces the integration of two new partners into its Universal Robots network of authorized distributors: electis and Faure Technologies.
A strengthened presence in the Far East and South East
electis, which had counted Universal Robots among the participants of its electis day in September 2018, is a company present in the Far East region which will represent Universal Robots mainly in Alsace and Lorraine. This electrical equipment distributor employs around 100 people and has a turnover of 41 million euros. For thirty years, electis has been distributing equipment to the building and industrial sectors, such as PLCs and electrical peripherals, variable speed drives, programming software, etc. Collaborative robotics is today a formidable growth driver for this company, which is constantly looking for the most innovative technologies.
Faure Technologies, for its part, has been constantly expanding its field of action since its creation in 1978. Initially focused on the pneumatic and then hydraulic activity, the company then opened up to instrumentalisation and automation, before turning its attention to aluminium and transitics. Today, its activity revolves around four technologies: pneumatics and compressors, mobile and industrial hydraulics, automation and instrumentation and finally assembly techniques. Based in Valencia and with 5 branches, Faure Technologies covers part of the South-East sector and distributes all types of materials to companies in the region.
These two companies will be additional partners for Universal Robots in Eastern and South-Eastern France. Their entry into the distribution network follows that of the Breton Sterkelec in February 2019. A key player in industrial automation in the Brittany/Loire region, Sterkelec is an independent distributor of automation and electronics equipment. The company, whose headquarters in Nantes was created 30 years ago, also has branches in Rennes, Tours and Bordeaux. Its field of expertise includes machine vision systems, industrial PLCs and networks, axis management, optical sensor and laser systems, and operator panels and PC panels.
Alongside the first three distributors – HMi-MBS, Sysaxes and Fit Robotique – pioneers of cobotics in France, they will advise local companies in the deployment of collaborative robotics automation solutions, drawing on their extensive experience and know-how in the field.
“We are very pleased with these two new collaborations,” said Adrien Poinssot, Universal Robots France Sales Director. “Collaborative robotics today is an agile production tool that allows many companies to gain efficiency and competitiveness while adapting to their own needs. It must be within everyone’s reach. Demand is strong in the regions where electis and Faure Technologies operate. Their already very experienced teams will help us to better meet the demands of regional SMEs, particularly through their respective networks of local agencies.”
